Arc Search, developed by The Browser Company, has officially launched for Android users after a successful open beta phase that began last month. Described as “the fastest way to search,” Arc Search aims to provide a compelling alternative to Chrome by integrating innovative features. Notably, it includes an ad blocker and an AI tool called “browse for me,” which summarizes search results for users, enhancing the overall browsing experience.
The launch follows a significant beta testing period that involved over 100,000 Android users, allowing the company to address and fix common issues reported during testing. The updated browser now fully supports Android 12, includes a voice search feature, offers landscape mode, and presents a refined incognito mode.
Originally launched as a Mac-only desktop browser, Arc has since expanded its reach, with a mobile version for iOS released in January and a Windows version introduced in April. This Android launch marks a crucial step in Arc's strategy to establish a cross-platform presence, catering to users seeking a more efficient and user-friendly browsing experience on their mobile devices.
